Food Safety - We take food safety seriously, your health and ours is important to us.
We do everything we can to ensure that the food products we provide are safe and healthy.
- All our vegetables are double washed and sanitized (using food grade citric acid or hydrogen peroxide) to remove surface contanimants. They are packaged in new plastic bags, or sanitized boxes and kept at the appropriate temperature until delivery.
- Our meat products are processed at local lockers that are licensed and inspected by the State of Iowa, or by the USDA. They are stored and kept frozen until deliver.
- Our baked goods are prepared, baked, and packaged in commercial, licensed kitchens that must meet State Health requirements, and are regularly inspected.
- In general, our producers follow the Good Agricultural Production Practices (GAPS) outlined in the ISU publication PM 2045.
