Karen Sage and Sue Gavle run the new 66 Café in Waukon. They will be providing baked goods for Grown Locally in 2008. Products include cookies, pies, bars and coffee cake. We are excited to once again have baked goods available after not having them in 2007.
In addition to being producers for Grown Locally they are also purchasers. 66 Cafe is already serving local meats, and they can’t wait to start getting fresh greens and vegetables on their menu. Here are some comments from Karen on why they started the restaurant. “Sue and I enjoy serving real food. We started the café because we feel a need for a healthier choice in Waukon. We cook the way we like to eat and hope others do also. We are located at 24 1st Street N.W. in Waukon (Just North of the Chamber of Commerce and McMillan Muffler). We have a web site with our menu and daily specials, www.66cafe.com or call at 563-568-3155.” Next time you are in Waukon check them out, or order baked goods any time online at grownlocally.com.
