Rawson Berries - Randy and Rosalie Koehn
Randy & Rosalie Koehn, with their five children, moved from
Starbuck, Minnesota to West Union, IA in December of 2007; purchasing the
Rawson Berries farm. They have been in the produce business since 2002. In
2003 they added tomatoes in a greenhouse, having vine ripened, juicy tomatoes
by the first of June. In 2006 they started their own CSA, with a large variety
of vegetables plus strawberries available.
Karel and Joyce Rawson have been successfully growing strawberries on this farm since 1983. At this time there is seven acres of producing strawberries and one acre of fall producing raspberries. They also grew sweet corn, and peas. We plan to continue on as Karel and Joyce have been doing plus adding green beans and vine ripened greenhouse grown tomatoes. We use sustainable agriculture practices and use a food grade plant food.
