Anndon Acres is named after my wife's home town of Ann Arbor, MI and my home town of Swindon,Wiltshire, UK. We bought the 18 acre farm in 1977, it has14 tillable acres, with about 1.25 acres now devoted to vegetable production
We had a flower and veggie garden until partial retirement last year, then we expanded the veggie garden for the Oelwein, West Union, and Fayette farmers markets.
We are expanding for '09 season and Grown Localy participation to approximately 1.25 acres and plan on expanding more in 2010.
This year we will be growing several varieties of potatoes--fingerling, Blue and regular Reds, Yukon Gold etc,
Garlic-- Strong, mild, large & small bulb varieties
Tomato-- Roma, Cherry, Heirloom
Green & Yellow Bean
Egg Plant
Herbs---- Fennel, Sage, chives, Basil, Cilantro
Beets----Red, Orange
Peppers----Red, Green, mild, HOT!!!!
Radish, Summer and Winter Squash(more varieties) Pumpkins---all sizes
